THIS WEEK'S ADVENTURE
I've decided to take all the pictures for this BLOG and for my photo journal this week with my phone.  We'll see how it goes.  I started with the eucalyptus in our back yard... the same one that unveiled to me the half-face of a man a couple of years ago. I posted that one last week.  It was taken, of course, with my Nikon D2X fitted with a Nikkor lens.  All the images today, and for the rest of the week if I can manage the pain of withdrawal from the bigger digital cameras, will be done with the phone.

This is a special tree. If you like Broadway musicals as much as I do you'll remember a wonderful little song from Paint Your Wagon, "I talk to the trees..."  Well, this tree communicates something to me.  You can see what I mean with these images.  The bark of the tree breaks apart and falls away in no predictable order or patterns, and every day I check to see what's new there.  The tree is a living work of developing art.
I feel genuine affection for it. I particularly like the first image today.  It's in the same spot on the tree where the face appeared.

The images above are from the special tree, all taken with the phone.  Those below were taken with the phone as I walked through Mission Hills.

Last week one of your bark pictures, the face of a man that made me think of the usual picturing of Jesus' face, really touched me -- and went so beautifully with your accompanying comments.

Today's were amazing.
