You cannot say you have thoroughly seen anything until you have got a photograph of it.
                                                                                                                                                  --Emil Zola

Today I got a photograph of Santiago Calatrava’s Sundial Bridge.  The Spanish architect, sculptor, and structural engineer designed the footbridge to span the Sacramento  River in Redding, California. It was opened in 2004 and in my thinking ranks right up near the top of major outdoor art works in the United States.

And below the bridge on the River...

And out to the west of Redding... a grass and brush fire.

Two crows seem to be trying to figure out what to do about it.

Such an elegant, useful piece of artwork. I hope Bryan has had an opportunity to see it on his many trips to Redding, and hope he doesn't have to make that trip with the smoke from the fire, present.
Sounds as though you are headed home. So glad you could share this lovely bridge with me.
