Northern Europe is in its period of White Nights, so the view from our hotel room was jumping and very bright until very late. The people in this town stay up late... eat late... and obviously have a good time. Restaurants are expensive, but nobody seems to mind. I’m guessing the $25-dollar-an-hour people are not eating in the restaurants near the hotel.

I particularly like the public sculpture in this town. The lions at the waterfront behind the fish market are classic. There are four of them, all looking in different directions. Even the manhole covers are interesting.

EXODUS FROM BERGEN The Hurtigruten Coastal Express arrived back in Bergen late in the day, so we had just enough time to have a quick bite to eat, take a few pictures, and get to bed... Wakeup time: 2:45 a.m.
