CLICK ON AN IMAGE TO SEE IT LARGER.
Today I met Bill Goldman and Dick Goldman at the ferry landing on the Embarcadero for the boat ride across San Diego Bay to Coronado. These are photographs from the bike ride from Coronado ferry dock, down the Silver Strand to Imperial Beach, across the newly completed stretch of bike path at the southern end of the Bay, past the Salt Works on the southeastern tip of the Bay, up the eastern shore to lunch at Quarto Milpas and home.

Life is good.San Diego Skyline from the Coronado Ferry BMW Oracle Racing BoatSOMETIMES all the elements that are possible for a photograph come together at the same time...  This picture came together at one of those times.  The small water birds did their part by simply being there.  The great blue heron sat stoically for a short time then lifted of and flew across the salt water marsh.  The crescent of sand with its colorful weeds and the band of pink water supplied the right design elements. A Pod of Dolphins patrolled a few yards out from Silver Strand State Beach.Bill and Dick seem stuck in time at the South Bay Salt Works.Back home again, I found our amaryllis opening... an appropriate picture to end the day.
