THE ROCK STREWN MOUNTAINS OF EL CAPITAN PRESERVE aren’t as spectacular as Yosemite’s soaring granite walls and peaks, but Yosemite isn’t half and hour from where I live in San Diego. It's twenty miles from where I live to the trail head of the preserve. Our house is on a hill perhaps a hundred feet above sea level; the high point along El Capitan’s summit ridge is 3675 feet above the sea. David Miles, David Higging, Ed Jirjis and I did the almost 10-mile hike/climb in just over five hours today.
We came across a couple of critters on the trail. Ed rode one of them.CLICK ON ANY IMAGE TO SEE IT LARGER.
