From a human point of view, a field of Rosemary in autumn is the perfect heaven for bees. The pungent herb bushes growing behind my house are covered this week with tiny blue flowers-- and bees. Female bees hop from blossom to blossom searching for those that haven’t had their pollen taken away already. It’s an unfair world they live in, these bees. All of the industrious little worker creatures are females, not a male among them. All males, drones, are back at the hive tending the queen, bloated with food from workers and sex with drones.
