Friend Jerome Garger reminds me that today is Earth Day, first observed in 1970.  Jerome won’t mind my beginning this BLOG writing with his thinking about the reason for this day…

”Pesticide-corporation reps and other toxic toadies have been trashing Rachel Carson lately, coal-and-oil industry apologists are busily denying climate change, and "our" representatives at all levels (with some exceptions), corrupted by a Supreme Court-mandated system of legalized bribery, do little but preen, pose, and count mega-corporate contributions; but we can all find something to do today to thank our beautiful planet for its blessings, and I urge you to do so.”
Jerome

Our Earth Day in Mendocino included a walk around the second section of the headlands, a walk on Little River Beach, and ended with a belated birthday dinner with Nancy at Little River Inn… many opportunities to feel and express reverence for Mother Earth.  Life Is Good!
