I'm casting my vote to make the melaleuca tree the symbol of friendship. One of the things I like very much about a melaleuca that I know is that it is always changing but is somehow remarkably, dependably always the same. I check it often to see how it has changed. I decided to check the Internet for information about Melaleuca /ˌmɛləˈljuːkə/. I learned that it is a genus of plants in the myrtle family, native to Australia. I learned that it produces an oil known for its natural soothing and cleansing properties. I took three pictures today: friends, my melaleuca, and a fire hydrant that I see almost every day on my bike ride down the hill. I like the connections.
