The annual Pride Festival celebrated families.  I don't know the number, but there were thousands of happy people lining University Avenue and Sixth Avenue... except for half a dozen sad, unhappy people who claim to be "Christians" with direct communication from God who stood with giant signs and shouted their warning that LGBT people deserve "HELL" because "God Hates Gays."  I particularly liked two quieter, lovelier people who stood serenely between the haters and the celebrating throngs with words that make real sense.
