Family days are the best...  Nancy, Margaret and I spent this one with my Niece Braithe, her husband Joe and son Avery in Virginia.  What a joy!  Clearly Avery is a prodigy... Because in none of the photos is the print of Jean Andre Rixen’s painting “The Death of Cleopatra” that hangs behind their piano visible... in keeping with this weeks string of visits to museums, I’ve included it here.  The original hangs in the Musee des Augustins in Toulouse, France.  It’s a gift from Avery’s grandfather.  With his intense interest in music the prodigy probably won’t pay it much attention until he gets to somewhere around age thirteen.
