Just as some haystacks don’t have a needle, not everything has meaning. The only requirement I have for the pictures this week is that they must all be shot with my phone. I’ll be ready to get back next week to using my “proper” cameras... but definitely with renewed respect for and more consistent use of the iPhone as camera.
O.K., O.K... I know I said not everything has meaning, but I can’t seem to stop myself from wondering what an image would mean if it did indeed mean something, and that speculation usually leads to my thinking it reminds me of something that does have meaning or even of some other image or thing that doesn’t have meaning either. I see faces, especially eyes, all over the place. The bark of every tree is a Rorschach test. Thank goodness there’s no one to analyze my perceptions or I’d probably be in big trouble.
How can anyone not be reminded of all kinds of things by the scars in ficus or eucalyptus bark. How could I not see two eyes and a mouth even if there is no nose... how not see Oriental hieroglyphics.
This smudge of black tar on the driveway can say anything I want it to say.,,
The house is in Mission Hills.
The clivia, a plant native to South Africa, is growing beside our house.
The paint brushes in an old jar, the bike, the Balinese mask, and the sepak takraw ball I brought back from Indonesia balanced on the box with a picture of my Brother Jim and me rest on the top shelf in the corner where I sit and work at my computer.

Rorschack indeed.......wow.....the things I'm seeing.
Love the imagination ignitors. Ever thought about asking
followers to share their impressions of these pix? That
could be fun or terribly shocking. But, who said shocking
can't be fun?

Your blog is perfectly composed. I, too, wonder about essential meaning in an otherwise meaningless object. Whatever meaning comes to mind, I probably caused it to be. BTW, I looked up the spelling of the test to which you refer, and it's spelled with an "h" at the end, not a "k". Rorschach. (But, then, I'm just the messenger!). Ben
I have so much fun with your tree pictures.
I see things and wonder if it is what you saw.
As always, thank you

Jerral, you find meaning in everyday (and non-everyday) things more than anyone I know! And that's great!!
