A bike ride through Mission Trails Park in San Diego is a trip through autumn, and in this park autumn will last all the way through to spring. Winter doesn't happen here, but not far away in the hills we could get snow and plenty of winter anytime between now and April. I especially liked the ride out to this place this morning. I rode along the river east through Mission Valley to Mission Gorge Road and very soon the city seemed far away. What's left of an old dam built for the Franciscan Mission marks the east end of the park and the eastern edge of San Diego.
