I keep wanting to believe on any day that I am alive that it is perhaps the best day of all time. It's easy to think it may be so in Santorini. This is a place like no other on earth. Santorini is scattered mostly around the top rim of a caldera that resulted from perhaps the most violent eruption ever to burst out of the earth. The last violent earthquake shook the place in 1956. The next extraordinary eruption of the volcano isn't supposed to happen for another 20-thousand years.

The next big volcanic eruption may not happen for another 20-thousand years, but the sunsets almost every day are spectacular.
