STAR SPANGLED SKY

Spangled against the night sky

any one of the tiny sparkles of light points

would be lost in blackness

if it were left alone out there

without support from its neighbors 

millions of light years away, 

but clustered and surrounded

they crowd the universe

reassuring me and you

that nothing is very far away

from anything else.
