Common Core Curriculum has been a subject included in the proclamations and promises of all seventeen of the people lined up hoping to be chosen to represent Republicans in next year's presidential election.  What is happening in our schools has been on my mind for a long time.  I've begun to write my thoughts about Common Core into a blog post, but today is not the day to include it.  I'm trying to find a way to keep my thoughts on the subject to a couple of paragraphs.  Today I thought about parenting as I watched a mother duck and her baby explore the reflecting pool in Balboa Park.  I don't know if the duck relaxing in the lily pads was connected in any way to the duck family.
