PERSIMMONS, PARROTS, AND PALM TREES

MARGARET AND I are traveling this week from San Diego to Yuba City in the Sacramento Valley. I keep reminding myself that the destination isn't a place but a visit family and friends, a fellowship, a refueling for what comes later... and what comes later is not at all clear. Lao Tsu had a way of saying it:
