MY FRIEND Tom Fagan is an artist. Pay attention and learn... and if you want an investment that will give you more pleasure than any stocks or bonds you can buy, consider buying one of his paintings. His cityscapes and landscapes are very fine; but today I watched him work at something that pays the rent. He is available to paint weddings. There are lots of wedding photographers, but Tom is the only wedding painter I know. When he gets a commission to paint a wedding, he goes to the place where the ceremony will happen and begins to paint the scene without people about an hour before guests arrive. He paints in the guests and the wedding party while the ceremony is going on. Today his extraordinary wedding setting was the the Hotel Del Coronado. The photographs tell the story. Of course, I got out of the way when the wedding began. Tom will take a photograph of the completed painting before he hands it over to the bride and groom at the end of the ceremony.
