Sometimes the call is clear.
I must go down to the sea again.
This was one of those days. I rode along the river on my bike out to the breakwater between Ocean Beach and Mission Beach. I expected the surf to be high.  It wasn’t.  I hoped for at least a few sprinkles of rain.  They didn’t come.  Pacific Hurricane Norbert brought record rainfall to Phoenix and more than a few spritzes to the Eastern slopes of San Diego County’s mountains, but none at all to the Coastal areas of San Diego County. Beaches were crowded. Dogs frolicked. Maybe tomorrow.  Hope springs eternal…

Another couple of lines, and it would have read like a Hemingway. Hope springs eternal!
