According to reputable polls Forty-six percent of Americans believe the earth and indeed the whole of everything including all of the universe was created in under 10,000 years. It’s an offensive idea to a surprisingly large group of people who believe nothing is more than 6000 years old. religions, there would still be conflict in human
societies and between them.
Since religion goes to the heart of humans, leader people
of power rally humans with this to fight and give their lives.
This includes religious leaders like most Popes
Pharisees, and Indian Chiefs.
How best to control
human behavior? The first school principal I had my
first year of teaching gave me this advice. "We believe
in Democracy and all, but remember you are the boss
in the classroom. "
The highest values of religions, which most of us fall short of
in practice, are for the betterment of behavior in
communities. ----not war.
Does the religious organized group you choose to affiliate with
teach you to promote social justice or promote hate,
judgement, and on to war for religious reasons? Or to
work for generous inclusion and hospitality?
Much of the Middle East, for the US and western nations
Is about oil and maintaining our industrialized life style
Of life, not religion. For the Shities, Sunnies, and
Kurds, it is really about land and oil. But religion is
Used to incite the passions or fears, etc. And there
is a religious component.
So religions cause wars is an over simplication.
I see wars more as caused by desire for power,
Dominance, being best , and wrong ideas such as
Blue eyes are better than brown. Men are better than
women, and on and on.
