Compliments of friend Hector, Margaret and I were treated to a performance of San Diego Opera's The Tragedy of Carmen.  Wow!  I am not an opera buff, but I may become one if modern opera continues to do what this one does to the traditional Bizet version... the music was very good... and the performance was sexier than I remember other operas being.  Thanks Hector.

The new plaza (new to Margaret and to me) was quite a scene this afternoon.  We've got to learn how to be helpful to people who must spend all their time outside.  Homelessness is a huge problem in San Diego.  Tents and tarps and sleeping bags have found their way downtown.
