Sufi Mediterranean Restaurant

is on Balboa Avenue, in a cluster of shops that are definitely from another place, perhaps another time as well. The restaurant where we had lunch isn’t Mexican or European.  Around the room were many women with headdresses that are Hijab, Al-amira, Khimar, Chador, Niqab, or Burkah.  I can’t tell the difference.  Some women had no headdress at all.  The word from Ed and his sisters is that it is an Iranian place, not Iraqi.

With the world as diverse as this one where we live is, why should there be a difference in anything?  Why should religion be different? Why should we allow religious differences to determine who we are and which group to whom we should consider ourselves to be related? We should consider ourselves to be the same as everyone else.
