Jacaranda
Jacaranda is native to tropical and subtropical regions of Central America, South America, Cuba, Hispaniola and the Bahamas. It's at home in San Diego.  The season is almost over, and I was reminded today at a craft fair that our city would be poorer without it.

Jacaranda trees line Seventh Avenue north from Upas.

The young artist, Nikko Sanchez, was putting reflections
into his painting of the pool at Botanic House in Balboa Park.
He is a volunteer in a project to restore the murals
at Chicano Park in Barrio Logan.
