THE MUSEUM OF ANTHROPOLOGY at the University of British Columbia houses perhaps the best collection of Pacific Rim artifacts in the world. The masks are especially impressive. I particularly like the one above from Indonesia. It represents a good spirit, one that is ugly enough to scare away the bad spirits. There's a lesson in there somewhere...

That must have been a great museum, love the masks and I agree, that top one will definitely scare away bad spirits....and maybe the good ones.
