BAMBERG
Because Bamberg survived World War II, many of the fine Baroque style buildings stand as they have since they were built. A walk through the town is a walk through Germany's history from the Eleventh Century to the present time. The Dom (Cathedral) was begun in 1237. The Rathaus (city hall) was build between 1744 and 1756. Not many of the original Rathauses remain in German cities, so this one is a treasure. Bamberg has an internationally acclaimed symphony orchestra.Morning and afternoon views from the ship near Bamberg.
